Renewable energy consumption by country
Compare the share of renewables in final energy consumption.
What it measures
Renewable energy consumption is the share of renewable sources in total final energy consumption. The numerator includes direct renewable use and the renewable share of final electricity and heat consumption. It should not be confused with renewable electricity generation or installed capacity.
How to interpret it
A value of 18.4% means renewables supplied that share of estimated total final energy consumption. Differences between years are expressed in percentage points.
